kBox Training. Reduces Prostate Cancer Treatment Side-Effects.
Cutting-Edge Training Protocol.
Discover how a kBox training protocol – using flywheel resistance for strength and cardio – helps men undergoing hormone therapy maintain muscle mass, boost energy, and reduce hot flashes.

Reclaiming Strength During ADT
Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) is a common treatment for prostate cancer that involves suppressing the androgens that fuel cancer cell growth. While effective, it comes with side effects such as muscle loss, increased body fat, fatigue, reduced bone density, and a general decline in physical function — greatly impacting a patient’s quality of life.
Flywheel resistance training with tools like the Exxentric kBox offers a powerful, efficient, and promising approach to reducing these side effects. Combining a reduced footprint with a safe and accessible form of adaptive resistance, flywheel training offers meaningful muscle and strength loss prevention while maximizing accessibility and cost.

The kBox for group and clinical training applications.
-
Powerful Training Stimulus
Effective strength training helps maintain & build lean muscle mass — clinically proven to increase survivability in cancer patients. -
Adaptive Resistance
Joint-friendly resistance that automatically adjusts to individual user input to maximize accessibility and streamline group training applications. -
Optimize Space
The kBox offers a maximally efficient size-performance ratio, allowing clinics and home users to get the most out of their space. -
Evidence-Based Results
Helping Prostate Cancer patients build muscle mass, lose fat, and improve strength and power in on-going clinical studies.

Training Protocol
The training protocol that successfully built muscle mass, lost fat, and improved strength and power in patients on ADT!
Pilot Study Protocol
Warm-up: Stationary Bike
Strength: kBox Squats 3×8, Single-Arm Row 3×8
Bike Sprints: 3 Tabata Circuits, 20 sec ON, 10 sec REST – 4 min. Total
Benefit: Aligned with original Pilot Study
kBox-Only Protocol
Warm-up: Light kBox Squats
Strength: kBox Squats 3×8, High Pull 3×8, Deadlift 3×8
Cardio: Low Inertia Squat, High Pull, Deadlift – 50 sec ON, 50 sec OFF
Benefit: Reduces Investment Costs 60%, Doubles Patient Throughput, Improves Session Flow, Maximizes Floor Space.

Equipment Recommendations
While the original protocol used kBox + Exercise Bike, Exxentric has developed a kBox-only approach to optimize space, boost efficacy, reduce equipment costs, and streamline a patient’s transition from clinical to home training.
kBox-Only
Thanks to the adaptive resistance of the kBox, low intertia training can be used to replace Exercise Bikes for the cardiovascular portion of the protocol.
Equipment Recommendation
For most clinics, we suggest 6 devices training 12 patients at a time. 4 Active devices, 2 Pro devices to maximize budget while accommodating patients of all sizes and strength levels.
