kBox
Split Squat
The split squat (similar to the lunge) mainly targets the glutes, hamstring and quadriceps. The exercise is a unilateral exercise and puts the force on each side at a time which increases the cross-sectional strength, improves balance and prevent injuries.
Variations
Place both feet on the kBox or one foot on the platform and the other outside. To perform a more advanced variation, place the foot that is not on the platform elevated. With the hip belt and ergonomic harness, it’s easy to get the pressure vertically straight down, the angle adjuster allows for a more extended range of motion in the exercise. As a beginner, you can try to hold onto something just to keep yourself stable throughout the exercise. Once you start progressing you can do it without assistance and later on try pushing harder with your front leg to get the eccentric overload.
Regular Split Squat:
Performed with the harness or hip belt.
Bulgarian Split Squat:
Performed with the harness or hip belt.
This exercise requires the user to place their foot either on a bench or on a chair, make sure the support is fixed so it doesn’t affect the performance of the split squat.
