kPulley

Oblique Variations

The obliques are the muscles on each side of the abdominals, making it an important muscle for stabilization, rotation and flexibility of the spine. These muscles are engaged in basically every, power and functional movement. The kPulley is used for improved performance in major sports and for various health purposes. The wide loading spectrum and variable resistance make oblique strength training exercises ideal with a flywheel device.

Variations

On the kPulley, the oblique variations can be performed either cross-sectional or rotational such as a Russian twist, meaning that you are moving the force side-to-side to increase the adaption of resistance in daily or sports-specific movements. The oblique rotations could also be aimed at more isolated movement doing a straight arm stationary rotation similar to the standing wood chop or seated crunch.

Wood chops come in a numerous of different ways, as a sports specific movement, the wood chop is mainly used where rotation plays a major role in the athletes’ performance such in golf, baseball and cricket. This exercise also works for someone that doesn’t play any sport, just for improved core engagement and strength.
